Effects of Dichlorprop Single , Mixed or Separate Sprays with Calcium Salts on the Preharvest Fruit Drop of ´ Tsugaru ´ Apples

Abstract

|
|
This study was carried out to compare the mixed, separate or the single spray of dichlotprop with Ca salts on prevention of preharvest drop in ´Tsugaru´ apple fruits. The normal fruits and the stressed fruits which were pricked into the fruit flesh through calyx cavities with toothpicks were examined for the treatment effects on the prevention of preharvest drop. The single spray of dichlorprop greatly inhibited fruit drop at concentration of 20 ㎎·1^(-1) in normal fruits and at concentration of 30 ㎎·1^(-1) in stressed fruits. The mixed spray of dichlorprop with Ca-acetate or Ca-hydroxide of 0.5% had similar effect on the inhibition of preharvest drop compared with the single spray of dichlorprop. Regardless of normal or stressed fruits, the separate spray of dichlorprop with Ca-hydroxide and the mixed or single spray of dichlorprop with Ca-chloride tended to decrease the prevention of preharvest drop compared with single spray of dichlorprop
